Gabriel Fernandez is a Managing Director of DTZ Rockwood Asociados, DTZ Rockwood’s wholly owned Latin American operating subsidiary. Mr. Fernandez is based in New York. During his career, Mr. Fernandez has played an active role in $1 billion of executed transactions in Latin America, with a focus on industrial and retail properties. The range of deal types that he has been involved with includes existing asset acquisitions, entity-level investments, and ground-up developments. He currently works as an advisor to a private equity fund, with which he was involved in the marketing and capital raising stages. Prior to joining DTZ Rockwood Asociados he was a Manager with AIG Global Real Estate Investment Corp., responsible for underwriting and asset management in Latin America. During his four years at AIG, Mr. Fernandez executed real estate valuations, transaction and market analyses and due diligence of real estate assets in the industrial, office, retail, hotel and residential sectors. He is a registered architect who has collaborated on a number of institutional and commercial buildings. Mr. Fernandez is fluent in Spanish and has traveled extensively throughout Mexico and Latin America. Mr. Fernandez holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from The City College of New York, an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University and a Masters in Design Studies from Harvard University.
